XR Leeds supports the following campaigns:

GALBA
GALBA is a group of concerned citizens who believe Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) is big enough already. They come from a range of backgrounds and from across the political spectrum to stop the proposed expansion of LBA for a number of reasons.
Axe Drax
Axe Drax is a UK based grassroots network that actively opposes the Drax powerstation in Yorkshire that burns biomass to generate energy. They campaign for an end to Drax’s subsidies, due to the environmental, societal and planetary impacts of burning trees for energy.
No Leeds Data Centre
A collective of people from all backgrounds coming together to oppose Microsoft’s plans for 3 Hyperscale AI Data Centre at Skelton Grange.
The plant will require thousands of litres of water to be sucked out of the River Aire and would use vast amounts of energy to power, making it by far the single biggest carbon emitter in Leeds. Over its planned 60 year lifetime it is projected to release more than 200,000,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide, almost the equivalent of one year of the UK’s entire current emissions.
National Emergency Briefing
The climate and nature crisis threatens all aspects of British life, from national security to the food supply. Despite the scale of the risks now facing the UK, there has been no comprehensive national emergency briefing delivered to the public by the Government.
It’s time for a televised emergency briefing on the climate and nature crisis, introduced by the PM and delivered by independent experts, as an essential step to unlock the wartime-scale response now required.
